I think that it’s when we move into our 30s that the daydreaming stops and the reality of life sets in. That, in a way, is settling to me. I feel more grounded and confident, and can live out a few of those daydreams that I created for myself in my 20s.

How about instead of daydreaming, take up a new hobby? To me photography is a great way to express oneself, and could lend itself to creative daydreaming and writing.

BTW - you are a great writer!

You’ve described, to a great extent, my life. I always wrote, and had my nose in a book. Made up stories about actors. Did roleplaying, then stopped. Did a hey-day of writing, then stopped.

I’m 37. I’ve only just in the last year or so started telling myself that I’m a writer, and allowing myself to be creative, and telling the rest of life to go take a running jump because I’m a writer *no matter what*. I published my first paid-for article in July and self-published my book last year. Now, I blog.

Daydreaming is good. Sitting still for ten minutes a day and just letting your thoughts wander is good. Once the muse grabs hold of your intention, you’ll find she comes back.
