Robert Jordan of Wheel of Time fame passed away yesterday at 58 of a rare blood disease according to CNN.
I met him back in 1990 at a mall chain bookstore in New Orleans East. He was there for a book-signing for several hours and I don’t recall anyone showing up. He was very friendly to a nosy writer-wanna be who never read anything he’d written and didn’t even know he was going to be there but stood talking to him to keep him company.
May he rest in peace.

He was a really good guy. I know someone who used to be his PA, and she told good stories. So yeah, rest in peace.
