I hate the term ‘politically correct’.  Seriously, it comes out of someone’s mouth and I know the next thing they say is going to be absolutely stupid and mortifying.  These people are usually on par with those asses that say something repulsive about black people/women/Jewish folk and then say, “Some of my best friends are black/women/Jewish!”

The issue of politically correct language brings out the asshole in people.  It is not inherently a bad thing to want to be polite.  It’s just not.  Usually people who get all irate about politically correct language are people who don’t want to be made to feel guilty for being racist or sexist or whatever, so they try to make it into a joke.
