- Ikea will charge you a nickel per plastic bag at check out that includes a donation to forest restoration
- you can buy a reusable shopping tote from Ikea for 59¢
- grocery store chains Whole Foods and Hannaford not only sell reusable canvas shopping totes of their own, but will give you a discount at checkout for each reusable tote used.
- ask your local merchants if they provide a discount, if you bring your own environmentally friendly bags to carry your purchases home.
