O.K. I don't work for them anymore, so I can honestly say that Pampered Chef makes the best roaster. You have to buy the pieces separately, but it's totally worth it. And all of Pampered Chef's stoneware is lead free, which a lot of the stoneware you buy in Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Linen's n' Things and Target are not.

And the tofurkey comes in a roast shape and has stuffing in the middle. When you slice it, it looks like round medallions of white turkey meat.

My mom is desperately trying to find a tofurkey roast in the Silver City, NM area, so if anyone knows where she can buy one, please let me know.

Hmm...tofurkey. Sounds, um, interesting. Does is come in slices?

I'll have to remember your clay pot tip. It sounds like a pretty good idea...

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving up there in the frozen north.

Cranberry dumplings sound amazing, care to share a recipe?

PS I have to disagree with you on the mac and cheese. While it's not at all holiday food in my east coast Jewish family, it is in fact one of nature's most perfect foods, and probably a food group all in itself ;-).

Hi Lynne! Happy Thanksgiving :)

Have you ever come across quorn? It might give you the faux chicken texture you need. :)

The last two times I have had mac & cheese I have been forced to spend a lot of time regretting it in the smallest room.

What a great list! Thanks for reminding me about The Wizard of Oz/Thanksgiving link---I had completely forgotten....

Your Thanksgiving dinner actually sounds pretty tasty to me; I love tofurkey and your description of your veggies makes me feel kind of hungry. And I can totally get behind spending the holiday with Buffy. But we aren't doing TG this year, since my husband is British, I don't cook, and we're preparing for visitors tomorrow. But I am having butternut squash soup for dinner!

BTW, I am thankful for people who use I FOLLOW. Typepad (my platform) makes it pretty difficult to use, but I really appreciate the comment-love. I wish I could set it up on ours. We do T13 lists manually, but it would be nice to encourage commenters on other things we write.
