For Better Or Snow Storms

I’m feeling better this morning.  At the very least I was able to eat most of half an English muffin, which considering saltines weren’t a good idea even up to yesterday, I see that as a great improvement.  Yesterday I was doing quite well on very small amounts of yogurt and bananas though.  Also, I recommend a tea made with lemon, peppermint and chamomile leaves for tummy upsets.

My mother, the nurse, is a huge fan of Imodium,  but the doctor’s office told me last year that it’s better to let the bug/virus make it’s way out of your system than use OTC drugs like Imodium or that pink stuff, which will only slow the virus’ process through your body down.  I will admit though that I used Imodium a few times — once when I thought it was more important to sleep and once when I wanted to be able to make it through the work day without embarrassing myself.  However, as a person who tries to subscribe to more natural health solutions, I do recommend that you follow the advice of the doctor and allow the virus to make it’s way through your system on it’s own.

Anyway, I lost seven (7) pounds in 5 days and the last two days I barely had the energy to do anything where I didn’t think I was going to pass out.  Every time I stood up and walked across the room to get something or pour myself some water, I thought I might faint.  This is one of the pitfalls of living alone and having no significant other to come take care of me and one of the few times I regret it.

And, of course, the day I’m feeling well enough to go back to work, we’re having a huge snow storm, which I still haven’t made plans to have anyone come plow my driveway or bought a snow blower for.  So I drove over the snow going out of my garage this morning, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to get in tonight.  I certainly won’t have the strength to use the snow shovel, not after eating just most of half of one English muffin. :P

I was contemplating trying to devise some shovel device that could attach to the back of my Pug so that he could run up and down the driveway and the snow would be pushed out of the way with his wiggly butt since he loves the snow, but it was 5am and I was very sleepy at the time when I came up with the idea, so I’m not sure it would work.  Plus, I really hadn’t eaten anything much in days.
