Fairies, Snowflakes, & Other Loot

in Life, Pug Poop

Pugly brought in the biggest haul this Christmas.

Our neighbor, his fairy Pug-mother,  made him a huge red flannel blanket with doggie paw prints, bones, and dog houses imprinted all over it and it’s meant to be his alone; plus she gave us a package of real red licorice which he has to share with me.

His Gramma sent him a red Mickey Mouse sweatshirt and a handmade plaid neck ruffle with his initial inscribed  — granted, she made ruffles for the cats too, but they weren’t nearly as happy to see them. :P

Plus, I got him two shirts (one blue camo and one green camo) from WAL-Mart with a military theme as well as the red hoodie and orange and brown sweater that arrived last week.  With his new snow booties and raincoat, he really is the best dressed puppy at day care.

My neighbor knit me a darling bright orange fun fur scarf which reminds me of a boa and I’m going to have great fun wearing with flair.

My parents got me a lovely glass block with a fairy etched inside (my mother thinks I should put it on my desk at work) and a fairy wind-chime, which manages to combine two of my collection fetishes at once.  I’ve already hung the fairy on the hook the birdbath was hanging on before the freezing weather.  There was also a pair of Southwestern design socks; unique socks from my mom is always a favorite gift and I look forward to it every year.

They also sent me a weird little gadget that you plug into your car cigarette lighter — it’s a heated window ice scrapper; I’m very curious how well it works.  Interestingly, it comes from Avon.

I also got a pair of Avon snowflake earrings — even though I haven’t worn anything but post earrings in years and haven’t worn “theme” earrings in a decade, my mother continues to gift dangly and/or holiday earrings to me at least once a year.   Though I notice she’s never once gifted me with a nose stud/ring.  Hmmm.  I might actually try wearing the snowflake earrings though they are loopy dangly things.

The coolest gift, something I’ve been wanting but I couldn’t seem to justify buying for myself, is the digital photo frame.  I copied all of the photos from my screen-saver directory over but having watched them on the frame today, I’ve come to realize, I need to be more picky with the display. ;)   One neat thing is that I can now really tell if those pictures would look good printed at that size.  I keep trying to show Pugly his own image when he comes up but he still runs to the window when I tell him to look.  *shrug*

Well, the Christmas Salmon, maple sweet potatoes, and green beans with almonds seems to have settled now.  I think Pugly and I are going in search of that fresh apple pie.

I hope everyone has had a happy holiday with excellent loot and delicious dessert.
