Things I Learned in 2008

in Life

  • There are only so many times you can drop a laptop before performance is affected.
  • The weekend is never as long as you think it is.
  • You’re never know as much as you think you do.
  • The inner-workings of a Pug’s mind is a very complex thing.
  • Hope and stupidity, while not mutually inclusive, are contagious, especially where politics are involved.
  • Procrastination would be limitless but for silly human obstacles such as fear (of job loss, of angry significant others, of bad grades, of something involving someone or some other people) or guilt or hunger or a Pug who insists he needs to pee outside.
  • Except when you’re driving, sleep is never a bad choice.
  • There’s only so much Tofurky someone can be excited about.
  • Gardening is a lot harder than it looks.
  • It might take almost 40 years, but eventually one of your parents might actually treat you like an adult.
  • No matter how many books you read on organization and cleaning, the cleaning fairy is never coming to your house while you are at work.

La la la la *I can’t hear you*

I refuse to believe that the cleaning fairy isn’t real. Refuse I tell you! She’s coming. She really is. She just hasn’t gotten here yet.

I keep asking the cats and dog why they don’t earn their keep and clean up while I’m gone since some of this mess is their fault, but they just stare at me and telepathically try to make me give them cookies. Even if the cleaning fairy were to come here, if it was on a non-daycare day, there would be such vicious barking, she’d be frightened into another county. :P
