Today I am Grateful… {02-25-2009}

in Gratitudes, Life, The Year of Me

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…. It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.
~Melodie Beattie

  • Today I am grateful that I am employed doing work that challenges my mind.
  • Today I am grateful I have neighbors that look out for me, which is such a nice change after experiencing neighborhoods changing from close-nit to alien nations over the last 30 years.
  • Today I am grateful for locally-owned and operated delis and their owners and the perks of getting to know them, including feeling special whenever I walk in their doors.
  • Today I am grateful that today I have power, heat, and cable when there are hundreds of Mainers who still without heat and power after the snow storm last Sunday night/Monday morning.
  • Today I am grateful I wasn’t late for work despite over-sleeping.

Very nice!! It’s a good to find things to be grateful for in this day and age!

BTW – I love the picture on your sidebar. That is so cool!

Well, the picture has changed now, but it was a picture taken from what looks like inside a car at night with rain on the windshield and glowing lights from traffic. Very awesome.

Ah, yes, that was ice that kept reforming during an ice storm. I want to have that photo framed and hung on my wall.

It was really bad for the Mainers who were without any Heating or electrical equipment when there was a snow storm.
